About me

1. Special clinical interests include Cough, Asthma, COPD, Bronchiectasis, Lung Cancer and Interventional Bronchoscopy.

2. Lead clinician for Interventional Bronchoscopy. I receive referrals from 10 hospitals for the following procedures - Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), Radial peripheral and central probe EBUS, Endobronchial stents in lung cancer, Endobronchial valves for emphysema and pneumothorax, Balloon dilation, Endobronchial Cryo debulking and Argon Plasma Coagulation.

3. COPD - Developed Knowsley Community COPD Service for Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital in 2011. I have set up a monthly severe emphysema MDT for patients who require lung volume reduction procedures (surgery or valves) for emphysema.

4. Specialist Advisor to NICE for endobronchial valves in pneumothorax and Topaz Chest drain system

5. Level 1 trained in Thoracic Ultrasound.

6. Past teaching programme director for Mersey Respiratory Registrars.

7. Carried out research in Cystic fibrosis, Lung Cancer and COPD - 20 Peer reviewed publications (accessible via Medline and Google) and presented over 80 abstracts at National and International Meetings.
