About me
I qualified in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Melbourne in Australia in 1996 and undertook my postgraduate training in north east England and gained Membership of the Royal College of Physician (MRCP) in 2000. I pursued my interest in Rheumatology with specialist training in Oxford Deanery. I developed my interest in scleroderma and connective tissue disease as research fellow at Royal Free Hospital. This research work has been published and was awarded with PhD in Medicine with the University College of London. It provided a catalyst for my interest in multisystem connective tissue disease and a focus in the area of translational research in understanding the aetiopathogenesis of systemic sclerosis in particular in exploration of potential novel cytokines and chemokines that link the inflammatory and fibrotic processes in this disease.
