About me
Mr Mark Jeffery is a fellowship trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Specialist in Shoulder and Upper Limb at University Hospital Lewisham, London with over 20 years' experience.
Mr Mark Jeffery is a specialist the management of all aspects of shoulder and elbow, hand and wrist from minor injuries, degenerative conditions to complex reconstruction. He has a reputation as a thorough clinician, effective communicator, and skilled surgeon. His practice encompasses joint decision-making with the patient and utilising non-operative techniques where possible. When surgery is required, Mr Mark Jeffery has excellent outcomes, where he utilises the latest evidence-base, implants, and surgical techniques .
His clinical expertise includes the evaluation and management of sports injuries, where he regularly treats rugby, swimming, rowing, golf, tennis and athletic related shoulder and upper limb injuries.
He was appointed The Educational Lead in Surgery for Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, where he took the responsibility for surgical training, from the foundation doctor to the surgeon of the future. He is a Royal College of Surgeons College Tutor and he is also involved in the training and development of international medical graduates. He takes pride that he was commended by the London specialist trainees as 'The Trainer of the year, and 'The Trainees Educational Supervisor of the year.
Mr Mark Jeffery qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster, Imperial College School of Medicine, London. He completed his surgical training in London and was privileged to undertake his specialist orthopaedic training at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital renowned internationally.
Mr Mark Jeffery has completed two specialist fellowship posts, one in complex reconstructive surgery and in advanced arthroscopic techniques at the Epsom Shoulder Unit in Surrey and as a Trauma Fellow at The Royal London, Trauma Unit.
