About me
Dr Obaid is a long established NHS consultant Rheumatologist. Having received training in London and Leicester, she was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College Of Physicians. Since, she has obtained an MSc in Rheumatology from Harris Manchester College, Oxford University. Her passion for the field sees her regularly teach Nottingham medical students and actively partake in the training of junior doctors. Dr Obaid has extensive experience in treating inflammatory arthropathies such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis as well as, connective tissue diseases such as lupus, gout, fibromyalgia, and osteoarthritis. In addition to joint injections, she has trained to provide ultrasound examination of the joints streamlining the diagnostic process and aiding early detection of inflammatory arthritis.
Dr Obaid had been nominated for doctor of the year award and has won clinical excellence awards.

I regularly attend international and national conferences to keep abreast with the latest developments in my field and I achieve my required CPD each year. I keep up to date with my yearly appraisal and revalidation.
I am an enthusiatic teacher and trainer, having the responsibilty of being the clinical and educational supervisor for our rheumatology trainees. I enjoy teaching the final year medical students from Nottingham University, and I am the audit lead in Rheumatology.
