About me
Vivek Bansal is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon and specialises in medical retinal diseases and modern cataract surgery. He has been practicing ophthalmology for more than twenty years.
He did his higher specialist training from Cardiff and fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. He joined as Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Essex County Hospital, Colchester in 2009.
His areas of expertise are age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions, inflammatory eye diseases (uveitis), diabetic eye disease including intravitreal injection therapy (Eylea, Lucentis) and laser treatments.
He is actively involved in the training and teaching of doctors and also ophthalmic trainees. He also had a role of college tutor for the Royal College of Opthalmologists and faculty for the College�s Microsurgical Skills Courses. He has made scientific presentations and lectures in regional and international meetings.
Mr Bansal provides clinical care for all general ophthalmic and emergency eye conditions and specialises in medical retinal diseases and cataract surgery.
