Andrew is a consultant urologist at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport. He operates mainly at Stepping Hill Hospital and Macclesfield General Hospital but also has NHS clinics at Congleton War Memorial Hospital, and Knutsford Community Hospital.
Andrew covers all aspects of general urology but has subspecialty interests in urethral reconstruction, functional urology and prostate cancer diagnosis. These include managing bladder dysfunction and benign prostate conditions. Diagnositic tests including multiparametric MRI; Transperineal Template Prostate Biopsy; and MR-Fusion Targeted Prostate Biopsy and Urodynamics. Surgery including Artificial Urinary Sphincters; urethroplasty; Botox, UroLift, RESUM and Optilume.

Research interests

His main research interests are clinically based. He has been the principle investigator for national randomised control trials including the OPEN trial and the MASTER trial. He is currently a PI for the NHS National Galleri Trial. He has worked with The Picker Institute Europe to develop and validate a national patient questionnaire to assess doctors communication skills.

Personal interests

He has an interest in undergraduate and postgraduate education. He is an Honorary Professor at Salford University running a post graduate Urology MSC. He runs several National Courses for the Royal College of Surgeons and the British Association of Urological Surgeons including surgical skills courses.
