About me

I am a consultant medical oncologist with extensive experience in treating a wide range of common cancers. In recent years I have specialised in gynaecological cancers, lung cancer and those cancers where the primary site cannot be identified.
I have research interests in exploring the barriers that people face in attaining diagnosis of their cancer and I have been involved in many clinical trials exploring new cancer treatments.

Supervisor of a PhD project on access to cancer services
I am conducting studies on the use of tumour markers in monitoring cancer treatment.

Personal interests

My wife and I have two children and five grandchildren. I like to sail whenever I can. I garden, which is a good way to get fresh air and exercise. I enjoy classical music, especially the organ. I enjoy learning about the Bible.
