About me
Dr Stuart Webb qualified at University College Hospital where he was awarded the Fellowes Gold Medal in Medicine and an intercalated BSc (1st Class Hons) in Physiology. He then trained in General Medicine, Cardiology and Geriatric Medicine at The Royal Free, National Heart and Hammersmith Hospitals. He was awarded an MD as British Heart Foundation Junior Research Fellow at the Cardiothoracic Institute and conducted further research in electrophysiology and pacemaker design at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School.
He was appointed as Consultant Physician at St Mary’s Hospital in 1987 with sessional commitments to the Departments of Medicine for the Elderly and Cardiology. Dr Webb retired from this post in February 2011 and continues to consult at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. He has a special interest in cardiovascular disease in the elderly, arrhythmias, stroke and all aspects of perioperative medicine. He is chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at St John & St Elizabeth and is one of the physicians attached to the Stroke Unit at this hospital. In 2016 he was appointed to the post of Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at UCLH.
