Dr. Jonathan Bodansky qualified MB ChB Honours, from Liverpool University in 1974 with a distinction in surgery and the Sir Robert Kelly Gold medal. He did his research for his MD thesis on diabetic complications at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, awarded in 1983. He was appointed as a consultant physician and diabetologist at Leeds in1989.
He has an international patient referral practice. He is an advisor to the GMC, MDU, MPS, CPS, NHS litigation authority, UK police forces, HM Coroners, et alia, on civil and criminal legal cases.
He is a recent member of Council of the EASD, the European Association for the Study of Diabetes and recently served on the EASD ‘POGS’ committee, the panel that oversees guidelines and statements about diabetes for the association. He has served on, and chaired, its research grants committee.
In 2013, ‘Tatler’ magazine listed him in their top 250 doctors in the UK and the University of Leeds awarded him the title of 'Associate Professor'.
