About me

Dr Rodney Foale currently works as a Consultant Cardiologist at St Mary's Hospital, part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

In addition to his NHS - Dr Foale runs private outpatient cardiology clinics four days a week at The Harley Street Clinic hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK. His clinic is based at 78 Harley Street on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, where he is supported by a clinical team of specialised radiologists and Clinical Nurse Specialists, delivering rapid diagnosis and treatment plans.

Dr. Rodney Foale was an Honours graduate from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 1971. After two years at St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne, he travelled to India and worked in rural areas of Madras and Kashmir. He then continued training back in London at the Hammersmith Hospital, the Royal London and then at the National Heart Hospital. He took a post at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for 2 years before returning to be a Senior Registrar at Hammersmith Hospital.

In 1985 Dr Foale was appointed as Consultant Cardiologist at St. Mary's Hospital where he became Clinical Director of Surgery including Cardiovascular Medicine and Intensive Care.

In addition he is Co-Director of the International Centre for Circulatory Health (ICCH) supporting research at St Mary's Hospital/Imperial College.

His main clinical interests are in the management of hypertension and in the invasive diagnosis and interventional treatment of coronary artery disease. He has a special interest in angioplasty - the insertion and inflation of a tiny stent that re-opens arterial blockages primarily in the coronary arteries.

Dr Foale is a specialist in all non-invasive investigation of general adult cardiology, including hypertension and percutaneous interventional treatment of coronary artery disease.
