About me
Myrddin (Merv) Rees is a Consultant Hepatobiliary Surgeon at the Hampshire Hospital Basingstoke. His surgical training was completed at St George’s Hospital, London and included two years as a Research and Clinical Fellow at the Oschner Clinic, New Orleans. Over the past 30 years he has established liver resection as a routine procedure, and has personally performed or been involved with over 2000 liver resections. He is past President of the Surgical Section of the Royal Society of Medicine, and past President of the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland. He has spent 10 years as Medical Director of Surgical Services at the Hampshire Hospitals Trust, and currently as Medical Director for Clinical Improvement.
