About me
Dr Philip Lewis trained at St Thomas's Hospital, London where he was an Open Scholar and subsequently did his postgraduate research and training at St Mary's Hospital, London. He was unusually trained at Senior Registrar level in Cardiology, General Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Intensive Care, Allergy, Gastroenterology and Diabetes. His extensive experience and knowledge has given him a reputation for solving problems of diagnosis and treatment where multiple conditions and therapies interact. His core practice is centred around cardiovascular diseases and hypertension.
He is director of Cardiovascular Research at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust where he leads a prize-winning research team involved particularly in investigating Blood Pressure measurement and preventive cardiology.
He adopts an entirely whole person approach to investigation and treatment and gives every patient and their accompanying family plenty of time for clear explanations of the medical conditions in a way suited to their own personal situation.
He is a perfectionist dedicated to a very thorough investigation of all the factors involved in diagnosis and treatment including lifestyle and non-drug interventions.
