About me
Miss Rachel Bright-Thomas obtained a first in medical sciences at Cambridge University and then did her clinical training at Oxford University. Rachel qualified in 1993 worked in several London teaching hospitals, before moving home to take up a consultant post in the West Midlands in 2006.
As part of her training Rachel did a masters degree looking at cancer gene therapy and spent her final year in training in 1 of only 9 National Oncoplastic Breast Fellowships, learning how to use plastic surgical techniques to complement and enhance the results of her breast cancer surgery. Rachel is fully trained in breast reconstruction and offers this as part of her regular NHS practice.
Rachel has previously been both MDT and clinical lead for breast services in her NHS post. All her elective work is breast surgery as outlined above.
