About me

Hi. Thank you for reading my page - I'll just tell you a little bit about my work. I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 16 years experience working in the NHS. My specialist interest is in weight management and I have over 8 years of experience working within NHS weight management services. I love working with, and supporting people on issues related to overweight/obesity, binge eating and difficulty making health-related changes. The work usually involves exploring why the difficulties may have evolved, what the barriers are and then working towards strategies that help make sustainable changes and reduce distress. I use techniques from different therapeutic approaches mainly compassion focussed therapy, cognitive analytic therapy and mindfulness depending on individual need.

Areas of interest

If you are looking for psychological support in any of the following areas please feel free to get in touch for a brief conversation about whether my approach/experience feels right for you:

difficulties related to body image; obesity; weight regain after bariatric surgery; distress generated by yo-yo dieting and difficulty maintaining weight loss; binge eating; emotion-driven eating (comfort eating); low self-esteem; obesity related to childhood trauma
