About me
My name is Miguel Montenegro, I'm a Clinical Psychologist, Neuropsychologist and psychotherapist. I'm registered with the HCPC and Chartered psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS). I am also an approved clinical supervisor with the BPS and NCS.

I specialise in working with adolescents, adults and older adults.
I work with people with long term conditions and often regarded as resistant to treatment, like personality disorders, bipolar, brain injuries, learning disabilities.
I work from a range of models including: cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment (ACT), mindfulness, Dialectical, and dynamic. I use these models to help people achieve their goals.
My main priority is helping people feel empowered about their strenghts and work to prevent relapse.
I also carry out research for papers and conferences, and supervise other professionals. I have won several awards over the years for excellence in patient care. This year I have received an award for working with challenging behaviour by the Association for Psychological Therapies.
I have worked for Mersey Care NHS Trust, the Walton Centre NHS Trust, St Helens NHS Trust; and St Andrews Healthcare.
