About me

Mr Damir Kosutic is an internationally acclaimed expert in Lymphoedema Microsurgery, Natural Tissue Breast Reconstruction (DIEP flap, PAP flap, thigh flaps) and all aspects of Skin Cancer and Sarcoma Surgery including complex reconstruction of the face, facial palsy surgery, ear and nose reconstruction. He is also specialises in upper and lower limb reconstruction following cancer or trauma and transgender/transition/de-transition surgery. He is a full-time Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at prestigious Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, where he is responsible for the development of complex microsurgical reconstruction. He is the only plastic surgeon in the UK trained in Lymphoedema Microsurgery by Prof. Cheng, a pioneer in this field from Taiwan.
Mr Kosutic completed prestigious fellowships in Breast Reconstruction and Perforator flaps with pioneers in this field Prof. Jaume Masia in Barcelona as well as the inventor of DIEP flap – Dr Robert Allen in New York. Mr Kosutic has published some of the key papers on one of the today’s most significant advances in the field of microsurgical breast reconstruction – the use of CT angiogram and MRI for the planning of perforator flaps to significantly improve surgical outcomes for all women undergoing breast reconstruction. Mr Kosutic has also completed the prestigious microsurgical fellowship at Imperial College NHS-Charing Cross Hospital London. He is one of the few plastic surgeons in the UK experienced in lymphatic reconstructions for breast cancer and gynecological cancer patients suffering from lymphoedema as well as Lipoedema. He is a member of World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery and invited speaker at prestigious conferences around the world. Mr Kosutic is one of the few surgeons in UK with expertise in migraine headache surgery. He is one of the only 20 UK-practicing plastic surgery Consultants who is a full member of prestigious EURAPS (European Association of Plastic Surgeons). He is also a Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of England and European Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Mr Kosutic was awarded prestigious EURAPS Scholarship for best European Plastic Surgeon as well as HCA Scholarship. Apart from Lymphoedema Treatment, Breast Reconstruction and Melanoma Surgery, Mr Kosutic offers expertise in Migraine headache treatment, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), Liposuction for Lipoedema and Lymphoedema and all types of skin cancers and sarcoma surgery.
