About me

Mr Yazan Masannat is an award-winning Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon specialising in the investigation and treatment of breast symptoms, benign breast conditions and breast cancer.

His NHS practice is based at Broomfield Hospital, part of Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. He provides private consultations at the London Breast Clinic at 108 Harley Street, The London Clinic Rapid Diagnostics Centre on Harley Street, LIPS Healthcare at Battersea Power Station and Springfield Hospital in Chelmsford.

Mr Masannat offers one-stop breast assessment for patients presenting with breast lumps, breast pain, nipple changes or discharge, breast infections, cysts, fibroadenomas and lumps in the armpit. Where appropriate, clinical assessment and breast imaging can be coordinated during the same visit, providing patients with prompt answers and a clear plan.

His specialist expertise includes breast-conserving and oncoplastic surgery, therapeutic mammoplasty, chest-wall perforator flaps, mastectomy, implant-based breast reconstruction, lipomodelling, symmetrisation and revision surgery following previous breast cancer treatment. He also performs sentinel lymph-node biopsy, targeted axillary dissection and axillary clearance. When autologous free-flap reconstruction is required, he works closely with specialist plastic-surgery colleagues.

His approach combines effective cancer treatment with careful consideration of breast appearance, symmetry and each patient's individual priorities.

Mr Masannat is a recipient of a National Clinical Excellence Award. He is Visiting Associate Professor at Anglia Ruskin University. He is Meetings Secretary and an elected Trustee of the Association of Breast Surgery and serves on the International Committee of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and has an H-index of 22. He is also the founder and editor of iBreastBook, an international educational platform providing free breast surgery education to clinicians worldwide. He is regularly invited to lecture and teach nationally and internationally.
