Dr Amit Patel graduated from King’s College London. He undertook postgraduate training in Respiratory and General (Internal) Medicine in London at some of the country’s leading hospitals including the Royal Brompton Hospital, King’s College Hospital and St Thomas’s Hospital.
During his higher specialist training he went on to study for a MD in the Division of Asthma, Allergy and Lung Biology within King’s College London and has published extensively during this. Dr Patel lectures on areas of Respiratory medicine and is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and has postgraduate qualifications in education.
Dr Patel is lead for Respiratory Medicine at King's College Hospital where he is a substantive Consultant. He is a Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College London and is the Training Programme Director for Respiratory Medicine in South Thames as well as Regional Specialty Advisor to the Royal College of Physicians.

All aspects of respiratory medicine, including the investigation and management of post covid, cough, asthma, sleep apnoea, breathlessness of unknown cause COPD, pneumonia, lung cancer, pleural disease, respiratory failure, sarcoidosis, interstitial lung disease and bronchiectasis.
