About me
I am an experienced orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in hip and knee replacement surgery
I perform the (SPAIRE) muscle and tendon sparing hip replacement technique. This results in a new hip that is incredibly stable and allows patients to return to all activities after surgery with no restrictions. This is particularly suitable for active patients who want to return to work or sports.
I developed the day case hip and knee replacement pathway at Spire and nearly all my patients go home on the day of surgery or the day after.
I use the latest techniques to control pain and this allows my patients to recover quickly and safely after surgery.
I have a postgraduate diploma in computer navigated knee surgery which means that the knee replacements I perform are done with the aid of a computer and this ensures very precise accuracy and better results.
I am the Clinical Director for Orthopaedics at Hull University Teaching Hospitals and the North Lincolnshire and Goole
Hospitals. I am also the chair of the Humber & North Yorkshire ICB Orthopaedic Network and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School.
