About me
I qualified from Cambridge University in 1994 and completed my cardiology training at Papworth Hospital, Cambridge in 2006. I am actively involved in primary, secondary and tertiary care treatment of cardiovascular disease within Cheshire & Merseyside and am committed to improving the lives of patients with heart disease. I am increasingly involved in risk assessment for individuals with a family history (or other risk factors) for vascular disease and actively promote/prescribe prevention strategies. I am cardiac lead for the Cheshire and Mersey strategic clinical network and immediate past-president of the British association for cardiovascular prevention & rehabilitation. I chair the CVD guidelines committee for NICE and the cardiac rehabilitation expert advisory group for NHS England.
