About me
I studied medicine at Oxford and Cambridge Universities qualifying in 1991. I later completed cardiology specialist training in Birmingham, following interventional training at the internationally renowned OLVG hospital in Amsterdam, and research in magnetic resonance imaging at Nottingham University for which I was awarded an MD.
I am Clinical Lead for Cardiology and Lead for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) at the Manchester Heart Centre, Manchester Royal Infirmary, where I was appointed as Consultant in Interventional Cardiology in 2004.
I am an internationally recognized expert in Transradial access for Coronary Angioplasty and in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation, regularly presenting at national and international conferences as well as organising national meetings.
I have various national responsibilities including Treasurer of British Cardiovascular Interventional Society and longterm member Medical Cardiovascular Advisory Panel for the DVLA.
I am Senior Lecturer at Manchester University with an active research interest and have published over 120 papers in peer review journals.
