About me

I am a consultant clinical neuropsychologist with
25 years of clinical experience. I specialise in the assessment and rehabilitation of the full range of acquired neurological disorders in adults, including brain injury, stroke, brain tumours and progressive long term conditions and the neuropsychological (cognitive) and psychological aspects of these conditions both on the individual and their family.

I am a chartered clinical psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS), I am listed on the BPS Division of Neuropsychology’s Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists and I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council that regulates psychologists. I am also a member of the Division of Neuropsychology’s Executive Committee and Policy Unit.

I trained at the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London. I have obtained the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN) of the British Psychological Society, which is viewed as the gold standard qualification for clinical neuropsychology within the UK. I am the Chair for the Policy Unit of the Division of Neuropsychology, British Psychological Society.

I have had several clinical appointments within the NHS in the associated prestigious hospitals: the Bethlem & Maudsley and Kings College, working in a variety of posts and was previously Head of Neuropsychological Rehabilitation at Kings College Hospital. I therefore have extensive experience both in neuropsychology and also of working with psychological conditions.

I carry out regular continuing professional development and I am research active. I am often invited to teach on clinical neuropsychology issues including to the legal profession. I provide supervision to trained clinical psychologists on neuropsychology issues.

I have worked with the National Institute of Clinical Excellence, the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman and the Royal College of Physicians.
