About me
Fergus Robertson is a consultant in interventional and diagnostic neuroradiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Fergus graduated from Queens’ College, Cambridge University with a first class honours degree in medicine before clinical medical training in London culminating in Membership of the Royal College of Physicians. He then converted to radiology training at the Royal Free Hospital in North London before sub-specialising on the London Neuroradiology Fellowship, including a 2 year training in Interventional neuroradiology at Queen Square and Great Ormond Street Hospitals. He was appointed to his current consultant post in 2006.
His key clinical interests include the endovascular management of all vascular problems of the brain and spine in adults and children, management of acute stroke, cerebral aneurysms and cerebral venous stenosis in adults. His specialist diagnostic imaging interests include vascular and spinal neuro-imaging, but his expertise covers all areas of cranial and spinal imaging. He has active involvement in research, publishing textbooks and in peer reviewed journals.
He is passionate about minimising clinical risk and maximising patient safety through an active clinical governance programme. He trains a number of young doctors in neuroradiology and also runs national courses to train nursing and radiography staff.
