About me
I completed my Orthopaedic training program in London Deanery and trained as a specialist spinal surgeon in London, Liverpool and Nottingham.
Currently I am the Derby Spinal Unit clinical lead for University Hospitals Derby & Burton NHS Foundation Trust. I was the lead clinician for spinal cancer in Derby Hospitals NHS Trust for 10 years.
As a consultant in spinal surgery, I have been practicing in Derby for more than 17 years. I have a special interest in microscopic spinal surgery and minimally invasive spinal surgery to aid speedy recovery.
Outcome data in the British Spine Registry for around 730 patients on who I performed lumbar spine surgery showed an improvement in leg and back pain following surgery. I participate in monthly complex spine surgery meetings and mortality morbidity meetings which help me to review my practice.
I regularly teach medical students and orthopaedic trainees. I am actively involved in research and have over 30 publications in various reputed journals.
