About me

Elaine Swift is an experienced Chartered Consultant Counselling Psychologist with over 10 years experience in an NHS senior leadership role. She specialises in the field of adult mental health/wellbeing.

Elaine has a vast array of psychological training and clinical experience, including being a trained Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) accredited practitioner. She holds a Master's degree in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBP/CBT). Additionally she is is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT); Structured Clinical Management (SCM) and Mindfulness. Furthermore she is an experienced trainer and an accredited tutor with the Association of Psychological Therapies (APT).

Elaine is always happy to be contacted by phone or email to initially discuss your needs without obligation, prior to proceeding with an assessment/consultation session. From your assessment a clear pathway will be collaboratively agreed including the type of therapy and the number of sessions needed with a clear rationale. Both in person (face to face) sessions as well as virtual sessions are offered to best meet your needs.
