Dr Ajay Swami BSc MBBS MD Anaesthesia FCARCSI
Anaesthetic Consultant since 2005, having trained in the UK and India, with a broad experience in all areas of local, regional and general anaesthesia, to include anaesthesia for the following specialities orthopaedics and spinal, obstetrics, gynaecology, general surgery, day case anaesthesia, diagnostic lumbar punctures, ophthalmology and paediatrics. Expertise in using ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia. Practising privileges at Woodland Hospital, Kettering, and BMI Three Shires, Northampton, Blakelands, Milton Keynes and Fitzwilliam Hospital, Peterborough.

A vast experience of teaching at both regional and national level for ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia, human factors and airway management.

Published research topics include the role of human factors in airway crisis management (Smart anaesthesia course), a comparative study on central venous pressure measurement, post-operative pain management, obstetrics and gynaecology anaesthesia, paediatric anaesthesia, and a range of national audits.
