About me

I have over thirty years experience of working as a Clinical Psychologist, with extensive experience both within the NHS and the private sector. This has included working within multidisciplinary teams; providing consultations to assess the full range of psychological and emotional difficulties; offering short and longer term individual, couple and group therapy and supervising and teaching of trainee clinical psychologists and other mental health professionals.
I am also a qualified Psychoanalyst, trained at the Institute of Psychoanalysis, London and see individuals for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis.
I am a Clinical Director of Facing Parenthood, the first London based Independent Service, to offer specialist psychological help to individuals and couples with emotional difficulties emerging at different stages of parenthood, from planning to have a baby, to the experience of children leaving home. Our emphasis is on helping with periods of transition such as pregnancy, birth, the post natal period and adolescence. This service also offers specialist psychological help to those struggling with fertility issues.

In my private practice I see both individuals and couples seeking help with :

Depression

Ante natal and post natal maternal and paternal depression

Anxiety

Relationship difficulties

Psychological difficulties linked to fertility and pregnancy

Ante natal birth anxiety and post natal birth trauma

Attachment problems and mother/father-infant bonding difficulties

Emotional struggles linked to early and later stages of parenthood

Stress

Psychosomatic problems

Loss, for example difficulties which develop following a bereavement.

I am chartered by the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. I adhere to their code of ethics and standards of continuing professional development (CPD).

I am an Associate fellow of the British Psychological Society and a member of both the British Psychoanalytical Society and the International Psychoanalytical Association.
