About me

Dr Ivy Ngu is a Consultant Dermatologist based in Glasgow with extensive experience in both general and specialist dermatology.

Dr Ngu graduated in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2009. She subsequently completed postgraduate dermatology training at major teaching hospitals across Edinburgh, London and Glasgow, including specialist experience at King's College London and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, an internationally recognised centre for melanoma and skin cancer care.

She was appointed Consultant Dermatologist within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in 2017 and has since undertaken a number of clinical leadership roles. Dr Ngu is currently Lead Consultant for the Complex Acne Service and the West of Scotland Skin Lymphoma Service.

Dr Ngu has particular expertise in complex acne, vulval dermatology, skin cancer diagnosis and rare skin cancers including cutaneous lymphoma.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Ngu is actively involved in dermatology research and has served as co-investigator in multiple national and international clinical trials. She has presented at national and international conferences and has published widely in peer-reviewed dermatology journals.

She is experienced in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of skin conditions affecting both adolescents and adults, including eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, pigmentary disorders, hair and nail conditions and skin cancer. She is highly competent in performing skin surgery and consistently delivers care to an exceptionally high standard.

Outside of work, Dr Ngu is a busy mother to three young children, all with eczema and food allergies. Through both her professional and personal experience, she understands the significant impact chronic skin conditions can have on patients and their families.
