About me

"Take off the lanyard. This space is for you."

You are the one everyone relies on - calm, capable, and always pushing through. But inside, you are running on empty. If you are exhausted from constantly wearing the mask of "I've got it all together" while quietly burning out behind the scenes, I provide a private, specialised space designed to help you step off the hamster wheel, reconnect with your body, and reclaim your life.

My name is Jolian Ardolino. Having spent years working as a Senior Leader in Health and Social Care charities before retraining as an accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I understand the heavy, systemic realities of workplace pressure, corporate burnout, and compassion fatigue. My practice offers dedicated Therapy for Overwhelmed Professionals. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, trauma-informed, and entirely free from rigid clinical jargon or toxic positivity.

How I Can Help You
I work extensively with caring professionals, corporate managers, and change-makers navigating high-pressure environments alongside complex personal lives. I specialise in helping with:

- Stress, Overwork & Burnout: Overcoming chronic exhaustion, navigating imposter syndrome, and recovering from organisational or compassion fatigue.
- Anxiety & Overthinking: Easing the constant mental chatter, soothing the physical Sunday-night dread, and breaking out spiralling worry.
- Masking & Boundary Setting: Overcoming the habit of "people-pleasing," learning to say no without guilt, and establishing firm emotional and physical limits. This is particularly relevant for neurodivergent (ADHD/Autism) people.
- Chronic Health, Pain & Fatigue: Shifting out of the constant struggle with a long-term physical condition (such as fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue) to establish sustainable pacing, balance, and meaning.

My Therapeutic Approach
I practice a trauma-informed, mind-body approach that honours how deeply your physical nervous system and emotional well-being are connected. I do not believe in a rigid, one-size-fits-all model, nor do I rely solely on traditional talking therapies like standard CBT. Instead, I blend three practical, human-centred pillars to match you:

1. Person-centred: First and foremost, you get an environment built on absolute safety, pacing, and personal choice. There is no pressure to perform here. You have full permission to take off the armour and show up exactly as you are - whether you are angry, overwhelmed, or completely depleted.
2. Reconnecting Mind and Body (Somatic & Emotion-Focused): Stress and burnout don't just exist in your thoughts; they live in your physical body. We will work on gently increasing your awareness of physical sensations and where your body is holding onto exhaustion. By tuning into these bodily signals, we process stress from the ground up, moving out of chronic "fight-or-flight" and back into balance.
3. Tools for Real Life (ACT Frameworks): We build practical, real-world skills using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Instead of wasting energy trying to fight anxiety or difficult feelings, you will learn how to "unhook" from worst-case thinking, anchor yourself during fast-paced emotional storms, and engage in creating a meaningful life.

What to Expect
Therapy with me is a collaborative partnership. We are a team, and this is the most important factor for real change, regardless of techniques or strategies used.

In our first session, we will gently map out what is happening in your life right now and look at how distress is showing up in both your thoughts and your physical body. In our ongoing work, we balance deep, empathetic listening with somatic grounding and practical skills. You can expect a supportive environment where you are truly heard, and you will leave sessions with concrete, actionable insights that you can use in your career and relationships immediately.
