About me
Dr Kenneth Mangion is a Consultant Cardiologist with specialist expertise in cardiovascular imaging. He combines extensive clinical experience with a strong academic background, offering patients evidence-based, compassionate, and high-quality care. His practice focuses on delivering timely assessment, clear communication, and personalised management plans tailored to each individual patient.
Dr Mangion graduated with an MD from the University of Malta in 2008 before completing Foundation and Core Medical Training in the West of Scotland, obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2011. Following completion of his doctoral research, he continued advanced training in multi-modality cardiovascular imaging and was appointed Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Specialist Registrar in Cardiology in 2019.
Dr Mangion's academic and clinical research has focused on the role of non-invasive cardiovascular imaging in risk stratification, heart failure following myocardial infarction, cardiomyopathy associated with chronic kidney disease, and cardiovascular toxicity related to cancer therapies. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed, PubMed-indexed publications.
He holds full accreditation from the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) in both transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography, as well as EACVI Level 3 accreditation in Cardiac MRI and BSCI/BSCCT Level 2 accreditation in Cardiac CT.
In 2023, Dr Mangion was appointed Consultant in Cardiology and Imaging, working across the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the Golden Jubilee University Hospital. His clinical practice includes inpatient and outpatient cardiology care, coronary care unit (CCU) responsibilities, advanced cardiac MRI reporting, and supervision and reporting of CT coronary angiography.
