About me

Life can feel overwhelming at times - whether these feelings have built up over a long period or emerged more recently. You may be experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, depression, or feeling stuck. At MKJ Therapy, I provide evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you understand yourself better and create meaningful change. I offer a safe, confidential, and supportive space where you can talk openly. Together, we will explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and work collaboratively to develop practical strategies to support your wellbeing. Therapy is not about being fixed; it is about gaining insight, self-understanding, and learning tools that empower you in everyday life. I work with adults and provide compassionate, individualised CBT tailored to your specific needs and goals.

I am a BABCP-accredited High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, having begun my CBT training journey in 2020 at the University of Birmingham. I currently practice in both the NHS and private practice, providing structured, evidence-based CBT in line with BABCP standards and ethical guidelines.
Before training as a CBT therapist, I worked as a Social Worker within Children's Services, completing both a Diploma and a Master's degree in Social Work. This role involved working with individuals and families experiencing complex emotional and psychological difficulties, and required a strong commitment to safeguarding, professional accountability, and ethical practice.
I also hold a BSc in Psychology from the University of Leicester, which underpins my understanding of psychological theory, research, and evidence-based interventions. My combined academic training and clinical experience allow me to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of presenting difficulties.
