About me

I have studied psychology and mental health with a focus on adult mental health and workplace issues gaining my MSc in Mental Health at King's College London. I trained in CBT at King's and gained my Postgraduate Diploma in CBT at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College and first became an accredited CBT practitioner in 2009. I have worked as a CBT therapist in private practice the NHS and Priory Hospital and specialise in treating anxiety disorders and depression. My most current lecturing position was teaching trainee CBT therapists at the University of Surrey and have previously lectured and managed the CBT course at Salomons Canterbury Christ Church University and supervised and lectured at Southampton University. Whilst teaching and supervising at Surrey I ran my own CBT consultancy treating adults with anxiety or depression. Having now re-located to Yorkshire I continue my private practice, face to face and remotely. I have seen how CBT can really improve lives and am passionate about continuing to provide high quality research driven CBT to my patients to help them recover and stay well.

Areas of interest

My 20 year experience in CBT covers all anxiety disorders and depression. I treat patients from 16 years of age. Treatment follows an evidence based protocol but is always adapted with the individual's own experiences in mind. Treatment is always collaborative with a strong element of active work both in - session and between session tasks.
