About me
Hello, my name is Charlotte and I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist supporting people to overcome common mental health difficulties such as depression and anxiety.
I have worked in a mental health setting for over 10 years, and been a psychological therapist for 8 of those years. My experience consists of working both for the NHS and in private practice and I have also received training and have conducted supervision of other CBT therapists, including the supervision of trainee therapists.
I have always loved to study Psychology, and when I started to learn more about CBT, I noticed how it's principles started to help me. From this point, I knew straight away that I wanted to work towards becoming a CBT Therapist myself, so that I could share it with as many people as possible. Since starting this work, I have found helping individuals to gain a better understanding of their own thinking and behavioural patterns extremely rewarding, and found that in doing so, people become empowered to implement CBT strategies and improve their own wellbeing.
I have received some further training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for people living with long term health conditions, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and I regularly attend further training to ensure my skills are up to date and in line with the current evidence base.
Therapy with me will be a non judgemental, warm, safe and empathetic space, and I would love to hear from you if you are interested in working with me. I offer face to face sessions in Dorking, or virtual sessions. You can contact me via cbtwithcharlotte@gmail.com or on 01306 774338.
Areas of interest
I have a special interest in working with parents who experience mental health problems in the perinatal period such as low mood, OCD, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and adjustment to becoming a new parent.
