About me

Dr Raman joined the Meriden Hospital in July 2006.

Dr Raman did his training in general medicine at University Hospital in Coventry and Warwickshire and got his MRCP in 1997. He then underwent higher specialist training in Gastroenterology and Medicine in Liverpool.

He has been a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the George Eliot Hospital since November 2003.
He is Director of Medical Education at George Eliot Hospital and is also Honorary Faculty of the University of Warwick and at Warwick Medical School. He is the Clinical Lead for GI cancer and Gastroenterology at the George Eliot Hospital.

Dr Raman has a major research interest in diagnosis and treatment of cancer and has published and presented papers on both sides of the Atlantic. He has special expertise in lasers in endoscopic treatment of cancer, which he has set up at the George Eliot Hospital.

Dr Raman is able to offer a comprehensive Gastroenterology service including consultation and endoscopy at BMI The Meriden Hospital. He is able to provide both a diagnostic and a therapeutic endoscopy service with the latest state of the art equipment, which is available at the Endoscopy unit at The Meriden Hospital. Endoscopy procedures he provides include:

Diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI Endoscopy
Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
Diagnostic and therapeutic Colonoscopy
He is happy to see referrals in all aspects of liver disease, reflux and dyspepsia, altered bowel habit, inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome and also suspected upper and lower GI cancer in addition to general medicine.
