About me
Dr Michael Quail qualified in medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2006. He was awarded the Murdoch-Brown medal in clinical medicine. He also obtained a 1st class degree in Immunology and was awarded the class medal in Immunology.
He completed his PhD in cardiovascular physiology at UCL and was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to complete postdoctoral research at Yale University, USA. He completed his clinical training in congenital heart disease at the Royal Brompton Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and St Bartholomew's.
Dr Quail works as an adult congenital cardiologist at St Bartholomew's Hospital, seeing grown up patients with congenital heart disease in his weekly clinic. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and a fellow of the Royal College of paediatrics and child health (FRCPCH). He provides advanced imaging for children and adults at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
Dr Quail is an associate professor at UCL, he supervises PhD students and has a portfolio of research in congenital heart disease, including coarctation of the aorta and single ventricle congenital heart disease.
