About me
I'm Heather Murray, a counsellor, psychotherapist, and holistic wellbeing facilitator. My work blends professional experience with creativity, mindfulness, and movement, giving you multiple ways to explore your thoughts, feelings, and body awareness.
I have over 25 years' experience in the NHS and private practice. I integrate:
Compassion-focused therapy for ADHD symptoms
EMDR for trauma processing
Mindfulness and MBCT for anxiety, depression, and stress
Music Therapy and creativity for expression beyond words
Yoga-based practices for nervous system regulation and embodiment
I have a particular focus on supporting neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ clients, guiding you to navigate life with gentleness, creativity, and self-compassion.
What to Expect
Therapy can feel unfamiliar, especially if it's your first time. Here's what working with me looks like:
We start gently: First session focuses on you, your comfort, and your goals.
Choice and flexibility: Online; talking, music, movement, or writing whatever suits you.
Pace and consent: You guide what we focus on.
Whole-person approach: Mind, body, and spirit are all considered. We may use mindfulness, gentle yoga, or creative expression.
Non-verbal options: Music therapy, songwriting, and sound-based work.
Confidential and safe: Everything shared is private and supported by professional ethics.
My aim is to help you feel seen, understood, and supported not judged or rushed.
I also offer:
Clinical supervision and professional consultation
Creative workshops and wellbeing events
Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma Recovery courses and ADHD Calm - an EMDR-informed course for emotional balance
Professional Background
Accredited BACP member (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)
HCPC-registered Music Therapist
Mindfulness Teacher and Supervisor (BAMBA)
Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional (Integrative Sex Therapy Institute)
Advanced Yoga Teacher (British Wheel of Yoga)
Cultivating kindness and caring for your needs
You might be feeling anxious or stressed, questioning a relationship, or sensing that life hasn't unfolded as you hoped. Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what matters to you.
Counselling can support specific concerns such as bereavement or loss. Psychotherapy can offer a deeper process of understanding, acceptance, and change.
My role is not to fix you, but to walk alongside you offering perspective, skills, and steady support as you find your own way forward.
