About me

Mr Pimpalnerkar is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Heart of England Foundation Trust and Good Hope Hospital NHS Trust, Sutton Coldfield.

Having completed his higher training in orthopaedics within the West Midlands Mr Pimpalnerkar completed to advanced surgical fellowships; the first in knee surgery (joint replacement and sports injuries) at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, the second in sports surgery at the Sports Medicine Centre, Calgary, Canada.

Apart from general orthopaedics he specialises in sports surgery performing open and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee and ankle as well as joint arthroplasty and cartilage grafting procedures.

Mr Pimpalnerkar is the honoury club surgeon from Walsall Football Club and a number of other sporting teams in the region.

Professional bodies of which Mr Pimpalnerkar is a member include the British Orthopaedic Association, World Orthopaedic Concern and the British Associaltion of Knee Surgery.
Whilst in Canada Mr Pimpalnerkar worked with the Calgary Flames, a professional Ice Hockey team in the NHL.

Until recently Mr Pimpalnerkar was a member of HM Forces and a Surgeon Commander in the Royal Navy, he has now retired from these duties.

Mr Pimpalnerkar has had papers published in international journals and lectures at national and international meetings. He is an international appraiser for Orthopaedic Surgeons in Europe including Romania and assesses surgical skills of orthopaedic surgeons in knee and shoulder surgery at the Foisor Institute in Bucharest
