About me

I am a full time NHS Consultant Gynaecologist working at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital.

I work within the busy Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology Unit on a regular basis. This involves supporting the nurses, doing the emergency ward round, attending accident and emergency unit and performing emergency surgery. In addition, I also perform second opinion emergency scans and I also support labour ward.

I also run and work in several gynaecology clinics including a general gynaecology clinic, a recurrent miscarriage clinic and a tertiary menopause clinic in the adult gynaecology setting. I am the lead for Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology which covers services within Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital as well as Evelina Children's Hospital. As part of my commitment to this service I run a paediatric and adolescent gynaecology clinic at Evelina Hospital. In these clinics I see girls and adolescents gynaecological conditions including labial adhesions, menorrhagia and ovarian cysts. I also run a joint clinic at Evelina Hospital with a consultant paediatric endocrinologist. In these clinics we see girls and adolescents with complex
gynaecological/endocrinological conditions. I also attend a multi-disciplinary clinic at Evelina Hospital with consultant paediatric endocrinologists, consultant paediatric urologists, paediatric psychologists and geneticists. In these clinics we see girls and adolescents with complex cases of disorders.

I perform transvaginal and transabdominal scans on a regular basis including during the general gynaecology and recurrent miscarriage clinic as well as in the emergency setting. I have a regular scan list on the Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology Unit. In addition, I have regular minor procedure lists which include manual vacuum aspirations, transvaginal ovarian cyst drainage, insertion of intrauterine devices and insertion of word catheters for treatment of Bartholin cysts or abscess.

I run regular and extra operating sessions where I perform many gynaecological procedures including operative hysteroscopies and laparoscopies as well as in open procedures such as myomectomies and hysterectomies.
