About me

Mr Sanat Shah is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He works at Manchester Royal Infirmary and Trafford General Hospital in the NHS. Mr Shah has private practice at the BMI Alexandra Hospital and Spire Manchester Hospital.

Training and Appointment

Mr Shah underwent postgraduate training in both India and UK, training in both Manchester and Southampton. He completed his AO Fellowship to Germany in 1996, and was appointed to his current Consultant post in 2003.

Current Practice

Mr Shah’s special interest is lower limb arthroplasty, knee arthroscopy and trauma. He performs hip and knee replacements as well as hip and knee revision replacement surgeries. He has special interest in hip problems in young adults and performs hip arthroscopic surgery for impingement and labral tear. He also has interest in avascular necrosis. He offers tertiary referral service for orthopaedic problems in patients with bleeding disorders and rheumatological disorders.

Mr Shah has also been trained in robotic surgery and offers robotic assisted hip and knee replacement surgery.
