About me
My background is in social work and therapeutic pastoral care. Over the past decades, I have worked in community mental health, family support and education, supporting adults, young people and families through experiences of trauma, anxiety, loss, relationship difficulties and suicidality.
?
These years of work have shaped the way I meet distress: with patience, steadiness and honesty. I don't rush to reassure or move past what's painful. I believe that feeling fully seen and understood is what allows change to happen.
I work with people experiencing anxiety, low mood, burnout, trauma, relationship challenges or suicidal thoughts. For some, these experiences can be hard to put into words. When language feels limited, I sometimes use music in the room as another way of expressing or sensing emotional experience. This is not something you need any musical skill for. It is simply another way of listening, together.
?
I also understand how suicide and suicidal thoughts can move through families and relationships, sometimes across generations.
