About me

My Experience

I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2009 and am an Accredited EMDR Practitioner. I specialise in working with adults who experience a range of psychological difficulties including: trauma and PTSD, depression and low mood, low self-esteem, anxiety, OCD, eating difficulties, and the psychological impact of physical health conditions.

I have particular expertise in helping people overcome the impact of trauma (including PTSD), whether this relates to a single event or multiple distressing experiences which may have occurred across the life span. I currently work in a specialist NHS trauma service for Military Veterans.

My Approach

I offer evidence-based psychological therapy focused on helping you achieve deeper understanding and meaningful change as effectively and efficiently as possible. Building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is central to my work. Together, we will develop a clearer understanding of your experiences and difficulties and the patterns that keep your problems going. From this shared understanding, I support you to learn new skills and approaches that enable you to step out of these stuck patterns and instead create positive, sustainable and meaningful change.

I have undergone additional training in a number of psychological models and draw on a range of evidence-based approaches in my work including: Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (including Acceptance, Compassion and DBT based approaches). This enables me to integrate different approaches and strategies to tailor therapy to your individual needs whilst ensuring our work is grounded in best practice.
