About me

Dr. Jenkins is a Consultant Cardiologist trained in all aspects of cardiovascular disease but with specialist interests in heart failure, inherited cardiac conditions and multimodality cardiac imaging.

He completed a BSc. in Cardiovascular Sciences in 2005 and graduated in Medicine from the University of Glasgow in 2007. In 2015 he completed a PhD in Cardiovascular imaging at the University of Edinburgh, and went on to a research fellowship in the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA, in 2016.

He worked as a Consultant Cardiologist in Gloucestershire Hospital NHSFT and as an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist in the Oxford University Hospitals NHSFT from 2021 to 2025. He set up the Acute Heart Failure and Inherited Cardiac Conditions services within the county and was appointed Clinical Director for Cardiology in Gloucestershire from 2024 to 2025.

In May 2025 he returned to Edinburgh as a Consultant Cardiologist in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and holds the position of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in the University of Edinburgh.

Dr. Jenkins holds national and european accreditation in heart failure, transthoracic echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography and cardiac MRI and has been trained in cardiac CT in both the USA and UK.
