About me
Dr Adel Elagawany is an NHS consultant psychiatrist with over 20 years of experience in the field, both in the UK and overseas. He is also a visiting consultant psychiatrist at Priory Hospital Chelmsford. Dr Elagawany holds a Certificate of Completion of Training in General Adult Psychiatry and is listed on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council.
His academic credentials include an MBBS, a master's degree in Neurology and Psychiatry (M.Sc.), and the MRCPsych. He also holds two board certifications in Psychiatry, a Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and has received training in EMDR therapy.
As a Clinical and Educational Supervisor, Dr Elagawany is dedicated to mentoring junior psychiatrists. He is passionate about person centred care and developing individualised, holistic management plans that integrate biological, psychological, and social approaches, tailored to each patient's unique needs.
