About me
I completed my professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Oxford and am chartered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
I can provide in-person psychological assessments and therapy from the Rock Therapy Rooms (Redland, Bristol) and/or online via Zoom.
My approach is down-to-earth, focused, integrative and compassionate. I deeply recognise the importance of a strong collaborative therapeutic alliance to support change. I aim to help you develop a shared understanding of the difficulties being brought to therapy and to work alongside you to reduce distress so that you can live life in accordance with your goals, values and wishes.
I have a wide range of clinical experience, having worked in a range of NHS mental and physical health services, providing assessment and evidence based psychological support for adults and young people experiencing a range of issues including: anxiety (such as panic, social anxiety and phobias); low mood; self-criticism and low self-esteem; physical health problems (such as pain, fatigue, appearance related distress); burnout; adjustment around significant life events (such as becoming a parent, health diagnoses) and single incident trauma (such as traumatic accidents).
I am trained in a variety of evidence-based, time-limited, therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and will integrate these and other psychological approaches and theories as helpful.
