About me

I am a licensed Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK and the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I also hold the title of Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol) with the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, especially when you may already be carrying so much on your own. You might be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or struggling with anxiety, low mood, trauma, stress, addiction, relationship difficulties, or a general sense that things have become difficult to manage. People also come to therapy for many different reasons at different stages in life. For some, it is about coping through particularly stressful periods; for others, it is about deeper self-understanding, emotional support, trauma, relationship patterns, or simply having a safe and reliable space that is theirs. There is no "right" way to engage in therapy, and it is okay if your needs shift over time.

My aim is to offer a calm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard. Therapy is not about being rushed, fixed, or forced into a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we work collaboratively to understand what may be contributing to your difficulties, explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and find ways to help you feel more grounded, supported, and in control again.

I work eclectically, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches depending on your individual needs, rather than rigidly following one model alone. My approach goes beyond talking therapy and may include exploring past experiences and underlying emotional patterns, alongside practical coping strategies, psychoeducational resources, and reflective exercises where helpful. Having a consistent and safe therapeutic space to process emotions, make sense of experiences, and feel understood can itself be deeply healing. Often, meaningful change develops gradually through insight, emotional processing, and the continuity of support over time.

One client described their experience of therapy with me in the following way (shared with permission):

Jeanine actually listens to you and is processing the information given. She engages, asks questions and makes you think about your issues with a different perspective. She makes me feel safe and able to open up to talk about topics I have been repressing for years, even issues in my childhood that I had forgotten about. Her calm and soft-spoken nature make her great for keeping me on topic and focused on the issues at hand when I start to ramble down the thought-train.

If you are considering therapy, you are very welcome to get in touch. I would be happy to speak with you and explore whether working together feels like the right fit for your needs.
