About me
I am an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist specialising in difficulties with anxiety, OCD, low mood, depression, anger management, stress, relationships, self-esteem, self-confidence, procrastination and motivation.
My approach is to provide a confidential, non-judgemental space where we can talk through your experiences to gain clarity and insight, and help you take consistent steps to navigate problems and challenges in a way that brings you genuine change. I work with adults on an individual basis.
The types of therapy I specialise in are: Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Therapy and Mindfulness-based CBT. These are different approaches within the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy/CBT tradition. I work in an integrative way, adapting these approaches to suit your needs.
Steps we might focus on in sessions include: gaining clarity about your situation and the changes you want to make going forward; identifying and resolving tendencies to get caught up in patterns of thinking, feeling and acting that may be having a negative impact on you and affecting your ability to deal with problems; identifying and overcoming the influence of past experiences that may be making you more vulnerable to problems now; taking action to create positive change when this feels difficult; developing a long-term plan to support your well-being.
I am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS Accred) and have worked in private practice since 2017. I trained at King's College London University and The College of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, Regent's University, London. I hold a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy/Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I am DBS certified.
