About me
Welcome. You don't need to keep struggling alone. I provide a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings and together we can make sense of them and find a way forward. As I commit to being present for you each week, you will have the opportunity to commit to yourself and your own wellbeing. Ultimately, counselling is about empowering you - increasing your capacity to cope with the unexpected challenges life brings, as well as to enjoy what life has to offer.
As an Integrative Counsellor I am able to draw on a range of theoretical models to support our work and make sense of what is affecting you. I work relationally meaning that our relationship is at the heart of the work. This is an important foundation for building trust and working through the issues that may be holding you back. I am passionate and conscientious and being reliable and present for you is essential to the way I work.
Areas of interest
I began working with counselling clients in 2013 and my work in the charitable sector spans over twenty years. I have experience in working with a range of presenting issues, including, depression, postnatal depression, anxiety, loss and relationship issues. I have worked in a range of counselling settings including GP practices in South London, the University of Surrey's wellbeing service and the Minster Centre Low-Cost therapy service. I volunteered as a Refugee Mentor at the HIV charity, Terrence Higgins Trust. More recently I have volunteered at Alana House, a service in Reading for women who have experienced abuse and trauma.
