About me

Mr Robinson is a specialist Foot and Ankle Surgeon at Sulis Hospital Bath with extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of the whole spectrum of foot and ankle conditions. He particularly focuses on forefoot surgery, ankle arthritis, sports injuries and complex trauma.
After initial surgical training at the Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, he undertook orthopaedic training in Bristol and performed a Trauma and Sports Injury Fellowship in Vancouver.
He was awarded the European Travelling Fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery in 2005 and has trained under leading surgeons in this field throughout the UK, Europe and North America.
He was appointed as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal United Hospital, Bath in 2005 and limits his elective practice exclusively to dealing with foot and ankle problems. Mr Robinson is currently the Head of Surgery at the Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust.
Due to his highly specialised field of interest he is often sent patients with complex problems for a second opinion. Mr Robinson is passionate about achieving the best possible outcome for all his patients.

Derek Robinson is married and spends his spare time walking his dogs, looking after his pet sheep and goats and maintaining his small holding and area of woodland. He also enjoys going to the theatre and cinema, reading and eating out.
