About me

I hold a Diploma in therapeutic Counselling and a post qualifying Diploma in counselling children and young people. I work with the very young through to the very elderly.I have over twenty years experience as a Counsellor and I am an Accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. As such I work in an ethical way and ensure confidentiality at all times.

Often, having busy lives means that we do not have the time to listen to each other. Just having an empathic , caring person to talk with can make all the difference.
My approach is simplistic and my aim is for you to feel comfortable at all times.

As an Integrative Counsellor I use various theories according to the needs of the Client. I work in a predominantly Person Centred way which incorporates the values of acceptance, empathy and congruence. I aim to provide a safe place where the Client can process and explore their thoughts and feelings.

Throughout my career I have worked with many issues that people experience throughout their lives.
This may include bereavement, depression ,anxiety, eating disorders, addiction, low self esteem, loneliness, sexual abuse, trauma , domestic abuse and family breakdown.

I have five years experience working within a Secondary School and more recently worked with people struggling with life threatening and terminal illness.

Areas of interest

I use various models of therapy including Transactional Analysis ;when Clients face relationship difficulties,
CBT ;for behavioural or addiction behaviours and Person Centred therapy ;when someone needs to be heard.
