About me

Hi, I'm Elisha, a CBT therapist (fully accredited with BABCP) with extensive experience in helping people navigate life's inevitable challenges and create meaningful change. I offer face to face and online sessions. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and the highly sought after Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), I also have delivered Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy groups (MBCT) in the NHS. I have previous training and experience as a Counsellor and Compassion-Focussed Therapy.

With a background that includes working within the NHS, GP surgery and charity organisations for the last 8 years, I've had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, facing a wide range of mental health challenges. My time in the NHS has equipped me with valuable experience in addressing complex issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma, as well as fostering cultural sensitivity and inclusivity in my practice.

I understand that your experiences are deeply influenced by your identity, culture, and values and I'm committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel seen and heard. Together, we'll explore unhelpful patterns in your thoughts and behaviours while building practical tools to support lasting change.

In our sessions:

-CBT will provide actionable strategies to address challenges and reshape negative thinking patterns and unhelpful behaviours.

-EMDR is a structured therapy that helps processing of memories and heal from traumatic experiences. It uses guided eye movements, to reduce the emotional impact of distressing memories. EMDR is effective for PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related issues.

-Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy will help you cultivate mindfulness, grounding, and resilience to manage life's stresses.

-Person-Centred counselling will offer empathetic support, empowering you to connect with your authentic self and move toward your goals.

Whether you're facing mental health challenges, navigating life transitions, or dealing with cultural and identity-related complexities, my approach is compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based.

Taking the first step toward therapy is an act of courage and self-care. If you're ready to begin this journey, I'd be honoured to support you in building a life of clarity, confidence, and balance.
